Alloy density calculation method

 

It is known that the density of A metal is m, the density of metal B is n, and the density of AxBy alloy is calculated (The premise is that x and y are the mass percentages of A and B metals, ie, the wt% content, x+y=100), the calculation method is as follows:

 

The theoretical density of the alloy: K = 100 / (x/m + y/n)

 

For example, the density of a titanium metal is known to be 4.5 g/cm3, and that of B metal Al is 2.7 g/cm3. The density of the Ti75Al25 alloy is calculated (75, 25 are the mass percentage of Ti, Al metal respectively). The calculation method is as follows:

The theoretical density of the mass ratio Ti75Al25 alloy is: K=100/(75/4.5+25/2.7)=3.86 (g/cm3)
